Tom Rosenthal
Tom Rosenthal is the hottest new actor / comedian in the country following a meteoric rise through the ranks since his debut in 2007.
Combining a likeable charm with sharp, satirical wit, quickly caught the eye as a stand-up by reaching the final of a host of prestigious competitions including the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year and the Chortle Student Comedian of the Year.
However, it was his ascent in 2011 that cemented his place as the new kid on the block, beginning in March with him being named Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year.
The 23-year old followed up the achievement by making an acclaimed TV debut in Robert Popper’s Friday Night Dinner, playing Jonny Goodman alongside a stellar cast of Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Simon Bird and Mark Heap. Tom secured widespread praise for the role, including being named as part of the Radio Times’ Class of 2011 – a feature on the hottest new talent on TV and radio this year.
Tom’s talents also extend to theatre and his incredible rise continued when he successfully auditioned for Laurence Olivier Award winning director Dominic Cooke’s production for The Royal Court Theatre, Chicken Soup with Barley, taking his place in a cast also including Samantha Spiro. The production secured a string of four and five star reviews, with Tom regularly cited for his performance in what was his professional theatre debut.
He capped off a tremendous few months by taking his debut stand-up show, Child of Privilege, to the Edinburgh Fringe, earning a string of glowing reviews, and he was invited to appear on 8 Out of 10 Cats soon after.
