Jessie Cave launches PinDippy store
Jessie Cave is delighted to launch the official PinDippy online store that will offer a range of T- shirts, tote bags and stickers inspired by her acclaimed and colourful Flat Whites series and Dippy doodles.
PinDippy, which already includes Jessie’s personal blog, sketchbooks, “Stuff” collections and hugely popular comedy shorts, will now host the online store following a growing demand from people wishing to add a piece of PinDippy to their wardrobes and walls.
Jessie’s “Stuff” collections in particular provide a glimpse into her world, her spectacles, her dresses and her pursuits. The PinDippy product range will reflect this and expand in the next few months to illustrated prints, cards and vintage clothing. However, she starts off in the well-heeled world of T-shirts, but insists that these are a little different.
Jessie said: “I feel strongly that T-shirts are generally unflattering on girls and so decided to sell ‘off-shoots’ of T-shirts in the form of long vests, long sleeved and cropped oversized. Hopefully the designs will make people look twice and I would like to make sure that girls feel confident with ‘Ways to Wear’ to maximise their T-shirt appreciation and satisfaction. Pindippy is about being proud to be a bit different, and I really want the store to embody this. ”
All of the clothing worn in the videos on PinDippy are Jessie’s own, and she was encouraged to open a shop of her own after fans showed enthusiasm and requested to get hold of similar items.
On the launch, Jessie said: “People have been so lovely about my clothes and the styling for the videos, but when I am asked where I get the clothes from it is usually vintage or something I have made. I like the way clothes can change my mood for the day. I thought it would be nice if people who have been very kind about my dress sense could wear the same, something I made.”
Jessie is best known for her role as Lavender Brown in the Harry Potter films, whilst she has numerous stage credits to her name including the part of Thomasina in Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia in the West End. In 2011 she won an Offie in the People’s Choice award for best female performance for her role in Lou Ramsden’s Breed.
Jessie has landed a major role in Mike Newell’s forthcoming adaptation of Great Expectations (2012) where she will appear alongside Helen Bonham-Carter, Ralph Fiennes and Robbie Coltrane. Jessie was cast in the role of Biddy in the film after Newell saw some of the videos she had written, directed and produced for PinDippy. Jessie’s sister Bebe was also offered a role having similarly appeared in the Flat Whites.
Harry Potter co-star Evanna Lynch and Olly Alexander have appeared in the Flat Whites series, whilst Rupert Grint, Katie Leung and Matthew Lewis have been lined up for parts in the New Year.
Jessie will keep her fans in the store loop with ‘Ways to Wear Pindippy’ via her blog and further items, including Men’s T-shirts, will be added over the coming months. You can visit the store here.
