Greenhouse Theatre Company's Mercury Fur Transfers to West End
· Trafalgar Studios 2 run from 29th May – 23rd June
· Transfer follows widespread critical acclaim during Old Red Lion Theatre run
Greenhouse Theatre Company’s debut production, Philip Ridley’s Mercury Fur, will transfer to the Trafalgar Studios 2 in London’s West End from 29th May to 23rd June 2012 following a phenomenally successful opening run at the Old Red Lion Theatre in March.
The production, directed by Ned Bennett, received widespread acclaim, with The Stage’s Natasha Tripney describing the production as a “a magnificently intense revival”, Matt Trueman for Time Out writing that “this 'Mercury Fur' makes you bristle all over” and A Younger Theatre’s Jake Orr adding that it was “utterly spellbinding whilst being repulsively brilliant…here we have a production that punches above its weight and knocks the wind out of you.”
The Trafalgar Studios 2 run sees Sam Swann join the cast in the role of Naz. Sam’s stage credits include Anne & Zef (Salisbury Playhouse), The Kitchen (National Theatre), Greenland (National Theatre), A Butcher Of Distinction (King's Head), Powder Monkey (Royal Exchange), Dunsinane (RSC) and The Exclusion Zone (Southwark Playhouse). His TV credits include Privates (BBC) and Navid and Johnny (BBC).
The confirmed cast is: Ben Dilloway, James Fynan, Sam Swann, Frank C Keogh, Henry Lewis, Ciaran Owens and Katie Scarfe
Mercury Fur at the Trafalgar Studios 2 opens on Tuesday 29th May, with matinees every Thursday and Saturday during the run. Press night is Thursday 31st May.
