PR Manager – Culture & Entertainment (Maternity Cover)
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic PR professional to join our Culture & Entertainment publicity team as Acting PR Manager on a maternity leave contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-connected PR with strong line management experience - someone who loves live tours, comedy, theatre, podcasts, festivals, and live events, and who is ready to play a key role in our thriving Culture & Entertainment team.
The Opportunity: Acting PR Manager, Culture & Entertainment
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Leadership
● Lead major PR campaigns across live comedy, tours, podcasts, festivals, experiential events and theatre projects, delivering high-quality work and impactful results.
● Develop and execute creative strategies for a diverse portfolio of projects, managing a small campaign team effectively
● Work strategically to identify the right activity to reach priority audiences and deliver on campaign objectives.
● Act as the senior daily client contact, providing trusted counsel, proactively communicating, and fostering excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders.
● Approve coverage reports, client updates and campaign plans before they are shared externally.
● Lead client liaison including project reporting, meetings and day to day communication
Media Relations & Issues Management
● Bring an established network of media relationships across broadcast, print, online and digital, ideally with a particular network of contacts covering live arts.
● Proactively grow and nurture media contacts, identifying new outlets and opportunities for audience engagement.
● Monitor the media landscape, anticipate emerging issues and develop strategies to mitigate risk.
● Handle complex media issues, establishing clear reactive procedures and preparing lines for enquiry, briefings and guidance.
● Possess excellent writing skills and strong news sense, producing sharp, engaging press materials.
Team Leadership & Development
● Manage and support junior team members up to Publicist level, ensuring high-quality work across campaigns.
● Provide guidance through challenges, oversee workloads, set performance objectives and offer development opportunities.
● Work under the direction of the Director, Culture & Entertainment
● Confidently lead teams at events, red carpets and photo calls when necessary.
Project & Workflow Management
● Maintain excellent organisation and administration, anticipating deadlines and managing campaign and event budgets effectively.
● Handle multiple high-priority projects at pace.
● Ensure timely delivery of coverage reports and end-of-campaign updates.
● Maintain a visible presence for Culture & Entertainment campaigns and project social media channels; contribute actively to internal updates and bulletins.
New Business
● Support the senior team in new business pitches and contribute to identifying new opportunities for agency growth.
Additional Requirements
● This role requires working at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe during August, so candidates must be willing to travel.
● Out-of-hours work is expected, including attending press nights, work-in-progress shows and London galas. Multitude Media operates a robust time in lieu scheme for additional hours worked
Key information:
Position: PR Manager - Culture and Entertainment
Contract type: Maternity Cover
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week with flexi-working based around core hours of 10am to 5.30pm.
Salary: £42,000 - £50,000 per annum dependent on experience
Start date: March 2026
Location: Hybrid working – minimum of 3 days working at our head office in Central London, plus home working
