Senior Publicist

We’re looking for a first-class Senior Publicist to join our television publicity team in either London or Manchester. If you are an experienced TV publicist who would like to further their career at our award-winning PR agency, we’d love to hear from you.

The opportunity:

This is a full-time position in our television publicity division at Multitude Media, based either in our London or Manchester offices. The TV team work on some of the most exciting content across a variety of broadcasters and streamers, from drama and comedy to factual and entertainment titles, alongside the BAFTA TV Awards campaign. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our television team, leading PR campaigns and unit publicity across a broad range of TV clients and for some of the best television shows out there. The role offers the scope for ongoing development and future progression, working under the guidance of the senior management team.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of the media industry landscape and come with excellent media contacts, as well as demonstrating high levels of creativity, organisation, and perseverance to deliver excellent campaigns for our clients. Candidates should have a proven track record in delivering press coverage across a variety of genres and strong experience in organising events and managing talent. Above all else, we’re looking for someone who lives and breathes TV and will use that passion to help us craft the most dynamic creative campaigns we can.

Multitude Media was founded in 2012 and the company has since established itself as one of the most respected in the UK, working with clients across the entertainment industry offering television, film, culture & entertainment, digital and personal publicity services.

Since launching a dedicated television publicity division in 2014, we have quickly become one of the go-to partners for production companies and channels in the UK and internationally. We work with some of the most prestigious production houses and arts charities in the industry on a wide range of projects – including consumer TX campaigns and corporate communications.

Our current clients include Baby Cow Productions, BAFTA, BFI, Big Deal Films, Blink Industries, Hungry Bear Media, Label1 Television, Me+You Productions, Merman, Mindhouse, Prime Video, Rogan Productions, Rumpus Media, Twenty Twenty, Tiger Aspect, Two Brothers Pictures, UKTV and Wall to Wall Media.

This particular role would be a combination of leading some of our core shows across a variety of genres including entertainment, drama, comedy, animation and factual. It is also an opportunity to work across our growing film slate.

Some of our current clients and recent campaigns include the BAFTA Television Awards and the BAFTA Television Craft Awards from 2020-present, Bad Sisters (Apple TV), I Am Ruth (Channel 4), Dreaming Whilst Black (BBC/Showtime), Dinosaur (BBC/Hulu), Backstage with Katherine Ryan (Prime Video), the upcoming new series of Gladiators (BBC), The Wheel (BBC) and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (BBC), the return of Waterloo Road (BBC), Late Night Lycett (Channel 4), Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back (Channel 4) and First Dates (Channel 4).

We’ve also led the publicity for documentaries such as Louis Theroux Interviews (BBC), Hospital (BBC), My Daughter’s Killer (Netflix), Sex Actually with Alice Levine (Channel 4), Rose Ayling Ellis: Signs For Change (BBC) and Freddie Mercury: The Final Act (BBC), plus factual-entertainment shows such as Save Our Squad with David Beckham (Disney+), Who Do You Think You Are? (BBC), Long Lost Family (ITV) and cooking shows such as Nadiya’s Simple Spices (BBC) and Mary Berry’s Highlands Christmas (BBC/PBS).

We also lead unit and release publicity for award-winning film production companies such as Genesius Pictures and mrbox, we have led the unit publicity on British films such as Good Luck To You Leo Grande, Mrs Lowry and Son, Brian and Charles, Sky Cinema’s upcoming vampire film The Radleys and new documentary feature Disorder.

Overarching responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and execute creative, impactful PR strategies for a varied range of projects, identifying the appropriate activity to reach the desired audience
  • Adept at managing a number of priority projects with high volumes of work at any given time
  • Work proactively and confidently using initiative, owning projects and responsibilities
  • Providing PR counsel to clients as their primary day-to-day contact, confident in managing issues and referring concerns up to more senior staff as required
  • Excellent writing skills and a strong news sense, writing crisp, clear and lively press copy, stimulating press and public interest alike
  • Fully experienced in managing all aspects of unit publicity including organising and scheduling unit photography and gallery shoots, press set visits and EPK filming
  • Planning and managing screenings, junkets and events
  • Managing talent and being the central point of contact for their agents, personal PRs and representatives for the duration of active campaigns
  • Creating talent schedules for interviews, junkets and screenings, and briefing talent and clients ahead of media interviews
  • Acting as the lead point of contact for all day-to-day client requests and press office responsibilities (including out of hours where necessary), with support from our junior team
  • Monitor the media landscape and anticipate issues that could impact on any given campaign and suggest strategies and responses to mitigate, where appropriate
  • Work closely with junior staff to ensure that coverage updates are compiled to a high standard and in a timely fashion, collate weekly client updates summarising state of play and prepare end-of-project reports
  • Contribute to company social media communication, as well as internal updates and bulletins
  • Proactively meet with media to build and maintain relationships, keeping an eye out for new opportunities across the industry

Contract type: Full time, permanent (subject to probation period)

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours a week with flexi-working based around core hours of 10am to 4pm

Salary: Competitive salary. Exact salary is depending on candidate experience.

Location: Hybrid working, with several days a week based in our offices - either the central London head office (Charlotte Street) or our central Manchester office (Ancoats).
